Episode 2 of Channel 5’s excellent ‘War Hero In My Family‘ aired last night and featured ex-MP Ann Widdecombe and TV presenter Quentin Willson. Quentin’s father, Bernard Willson, was stationed at Bletchley Park – the heart of British code-breaking during World War II. Quentin attempts to uncover what his father’s role was during his wartime stay. Ann meanwhile, looked at the wartime experiences of her uncle, Donald Widdecombe. Donald was an army chaplain with Field Marshall Montgomery’s 8th Army and ended up serving in El Alamein.
